Maurice Wane Dalton, age 75 of Davenport, IA passed away on Monday, November 20, 2017 at the Manor Care Health Services in Davenport, IA.

Maurice was born on December 17, 1941 in Hamburg, IA; the son of Maurice William and Beulah Evelyn (Geyer) Dalton. He attended school in Hamburg and graduated from the Hamburg High School with the class of 1959. He entered the United States Air Force on November 2, 1959 and proudly served his country until his honorable discharge from active duty October 3, 1963. He was released from his reserve obligation on November 1, 1965.

He worked in the family trucking business for some eight years and then began working at the former Missouri Beef Company. After some seven years at Missouri Beef, he began his career at Monfort where he later served as General Manager at the Monfort Meat Packing Plant in Colorado. He was a member of the American Legion.

Maurice married Joleen E. Bartow on August 21, 1997 in Greeley, CO.

He is survived by his wife Joleen Dalton of Davenport, IA; three children: Brenda Schroeder of Delphos, OH; Marcia Reeves and husband Curtis of Windsor, CO and Laci J. Dalton of Oklahoma City, OK; six sgrandchildren and one great-grandchild; brother Robert Dalton and wife Nancy of Hamburg, IA, other family and friends.

Maurice was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the Rash-Gude Funeral Home in Hamburg, IA. Inurnment will follow the services at Mt. Olive Cemetery, southeast of Hamburg.
